Day 22 - Surrounded by Yellowstone (June 23rd, 2024)

    In the morning, we woke up, ate breakfast, and headed off to do our own things.  Henry and I hiked around the Upper and Lower Falls and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.  We walked through the pine trees and up and over hills.  Then we went down to the falls and ran back up the two hundred foot plus some hill.  We passed so many people returning up, even those we passed while going down.  Henry and I went to the grocery store for lunch, then met up with our dad at our campsite.  
    While eating, the couple from Canada arrived and set up camp.  That afternoon we all went to the business center and used the computers because there wasn't good service.   We were going to eat at the restaurant there, but we were worried that we would pay fifteen dollars for a tiny hamburger.  In the end, we made our own dinner at the campsite.  
    As we were eating dinner, we decided to return to get ice cream. Then we remembered that the store closed at 7 p.m., and it was 6:55 p.m., so Henry hopped on his bike and sprinted ahead. Sure enough, it was about to close, and Henry quickly ordered for all three of us.  
    After ice cream, we returned to the business center and did some more work before returning to our campsite.  Overall, it was a restful day, with the beauty of Yellowstone around us.

Day 1 (June 2nd, 2024) - A brutal start

 After getting dropped off at the starting point, we had to build our bikes.  It was raining cats and dogs.  We built our bikes Us eating dinner under a shelter that's supposed to be reserved in advance Us packing things into panniers at the entrance of the museum Our campsite for the night and then started our 10-mile bike ride to the campsite.  It was one of the most challenging rides I have done.  The wind was so fierce you had to peddle to go downhill.  You can see a video (near the end)  of the ride here :  Video You can follow us on Strava here   https://strava.app.link/ O0Be5Qxr8Jb

Day 4 (June 5th, 2024)

          B y : L a y l a Eating breakfast with Gary Passing wild radish flower farms Braking for lunch away from the sun With the Cirullo family      In the morning, we ate a delicious breakfast with our host, Gary. Gary cooked us our first hot meal in what felt like a while, which consisted of pancakes with sausage and bacon.  While talking with him, we learned that Gary is a man in his 60s with a voice that isn't loud but carries through the air clearly. He is undoubtedly a man of the woods and truly believes in being a hard worker, supporting others to the best of his ability, and never walking away from an open door that leads to adventures.   He told stories of funny things he had experienced during his cycling hobby.  When Gary talked about his children, a proud glint showed in his eyes.  He is proud of his kids and what they are doing.   As much as he could, he tried to take time to spend with his children.   Gary is a wonderful, incredibly generous, and kindhearted host.
