Henry On Top Of The Sign

Our Tent In Front Of The Sign

We ate a big breakfast and set off. Along the way, we met a young woman who loves biking and has always dreamed of biking across the US. Her love for biking grew after she had ridden along the trail We stopped for lunch and snack breaks along the way.
We debated going to a campground for the night, two miles out of the route on a gravel road, but we decided to just camp along the road. So we went for a few more miles and saw the Colorado Welcome sign. Right in front of the sign was a nice flat area, so we started on dinner.
A motorcyclist came by for a picture, and we chatted briefly.
Then, a family and a woman came by for a picture. It turns out that the family lived in Sweden and was visiting the woman in Colorado. The woman from Sweden and the woman from Colorado were roommates in Alaska for college. The woman from Sweden had only stayed in Alaska for a semester, while the woman from Colorado stayed for five years. Fifteen years later, they still maintained a strong friendship.
It had been hot and very sunny all throughout the day. We had a bag of trail mix that was mainly chocolate. The chocolate melted, and when evening came and the day got cooler, it became harder. So, for dessert, we had M&M's, nuts, and Chexs covered in chocolate. It was delicious, and since it was the only sugar we were carrying, we ate it happily.
