Day 28 - A Rest Day In Rawlings (June 29, 2024)

Henry

A Double Rainbow

After a restless night's sleep, we got up, packed the tent in the Walmart parking lot, and got cold, fresh milk for cereal a walk away.  My dad went to the laundry mat, and Henry and I visited an old prison in town.  When Henry and I got there, we got there ten minutes after the first tour started, and since you had to go on the tour to get into the actual prison, we waited for about forty-five minutes. While we were waiting, we jumped around and did some parkour.
The tour was very interesting and had a lot of history to it. There were stories of escapee artists and inmates who took justice into their own hands with another inmate and saved the government court fees.
We met up for lunch and then went to Starbucks. Henry decided to nap under a tree while my dad took a nap in the lobby of a Holiday Inn Hotel. My dad then hung out with the locals while having a beer. Henry and I went to a very small movie theater that only had three theater rooms and watched Inside Out 2.
After that, we ate dinner under a gazebo, and it started to rain.  The rain stopped briefly, and we saw a beautiful double rainbow. That night in the tent, the wind blew hard, bending our tent out of shape. The wind blew so hard that Henry had the side of the tent in his face. It rained a lot through the night, and in the early morning hours, the lawn sprinklers turned on so we could hear it go back and forth, hitting the side of our tent.  My dad thought it was the rain but thought it had strange behavior.
