Training

We did spinning classes two to three mornings a week at 5:30 a.m. at a local YMCA. Our classes were led by Gerri and Cindy and filled with regular attendees. The west side of Cincinnati is known for its distinct personality. The people there fit the mold of faithful Catholics, dependable and minding their own business with no drama. We were very thankful to have a great place to train. Thanks, Cindy and Gerri!

The second picture is from our practice trip to Yellow Springs, Ohio.  We biked 80 miles with all of our gear, and the trip started in a Thunderstorm.  We used the warm showers app and found David, who let us camp in his backyard.  He joined us for an after-dinner ride to Youngs Dairy for excellent ice cream, and he shared stories of his life and bike adventures, including 5000 miles through New Zealand.  David mentioned he has trouble sleeping, so before I went to bed, I prayed he would sleep well.  I was reminded of the promise that those who bless you, God will bless.  The next morning, he came stumbling out, saying he hasn't slept that well in a very long time.

On our practice trip, we learned a lot, including that our tent leaked. We ended up with a list of 20 items we needed. It was a great trip and helped alleviate some of my concerns.
